Wala namang kasalanan ang boss: Sereno heartbroken over staff’s sudden job loss
For ousted chief justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno, seeing her staff suddenly out of work has pained her so much.
“…I also have to say that with respect to my staff (in the Supreme Court), duon ako talagang nasasaktan. The staff they don’t deserve this kind of treatment na bigla na lang wala na lang silang trabaho. Yung boss naman nila walang ginawang mali walang kasalanan. So that’s very -very painful…,” Sereno said over Jessica Soho’s State of the Nation.
The embattled magistrate was responding to a question on how does she manage the transition from being the highest court official in the country to one being ousted.
Furthermore, Sereno reiterated that her ouster without impeachment trial was a legal abomination.
“Anyone who loves the law iiyak talaga yung puso niya (because of the Supreme Court ruling). Talagang madudurog ang puso. Even law students, and anyone who has heard about the fact that any citizen na sinabing ang nag-akusa sa iyo ay hindi siya ang puwedeng naghusga, masasaktan talaga masakit. So we really have to continue to fight for the institution that they will remain strong na ang rule of law na talagang manaig pa rin.
