Philippine Judges Association (PJA) to call for Sereno’s resignation?
A member of the 1,200-strong Philippine Judges Association would read during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony a statement calling for the immediate resignation of Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity for lack of authority to speak disclosed this on Sunday.
The source bared the statement would be read during another “Red Monday” protest at the SC building in Manila.
This was the second Monday officials and employees to hold a “Red Monday” during flag-raising ceremony.
This time around, the activity would be spearheaded by the Supreme Court Assembly of Lawyer Employees (SCALE), Philippine Association of Court Employees (PACE), and the Supreme Court Employees Association (SCEA).
Officials and employees would be wearing red clothes, neckties, and arm bands to amplify their protest against Sereno’s leadership, and to demand her resignation.
The source continued that “Red Monday” would be also held simultaneously in other lower courts nationwide.
