Parojinog daughter pleads not guilty to firearms, drug charges
Ozamiz City Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, daughter of slain Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, has pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and possession of dangerous drugs.
The younger Parojinog went through arraignment before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 95.
At the same time, the prosecution and the younger Parojinog’s defense team filed separate motions seeking to consolidate the charges pending before the court’/s Branch 95 and Branch 228.
The prosecution pointed out her cases “all arose from the implementation of Search Warrant 5425 (17) issued by the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City against the accused.”
The younger Parojinog was arrested after a controversial raid by a team led by Ozamiz police head Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido in July 2017.
Mayor Parojinog, whom President Rodrigo Duterte publicly accused of involvement in the illegal drug trade, was killed in the said raid along with his wife Susan.
