Manila court orders P6.4-billion drug importer arrested
The Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) has ordered the arrest of Chen Ju Long, the alleged forwarder of the P6.4-billion shabu smuggled through the Manila port in May 2017.
In her resolution, Branch 46 Judge Rainelda Estacio Montesta also denied Chen’s motion to dismiss the case on the grounds of forum-shopping and double jeopardy.
Chen remains at large, avoiding detention for the nonbailable illegal drug charges.
Chen is the alleged owner of the Philippine Hongfei Logistics Group of Companies Incorporated, which imported the shipment that were misdeclared as kitchen supplies.
