Hilbay pushes for ‘economy for all’
As inflation hits another high at 5.7 percent in July, former solicitor general Florin Hilbay worries that the government’s inability to control inflation will hit the poor the hardest.
The abogado calls for “economy for all”, where resources are distributed fairly and not just for the privileged few.
“A gov’t that can’t control inflation is a gov’t that can’t help the poor. Ekonomiya para sa lahat, di para sa iilan. Distribution of resources is not just a question of efficiency; it’s also a question of justice. Equal citizenship = fairness of the rules of distribution,” he said.
