Di sila makakawala: Bato vows to pin down Peter Lim, Kerwin Espinosa on drug raps
Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Bato dela Rosa assured President Rodrigo Duterte that he would ask the Department of Justice to take a second look into the dismissal of drug charges against personalities included in the drug list of the chief executive.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque gave updates from Joint Command Conference by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police presided by the President late Tuesday where dela Rosa updated the President on what the PNP was doing to salvage its case against alleged drug lords Peter Lim, Peter Co, and Kerwin Espinosa which was dismissed by the Department of Justice for lack of evidence.
“The PNP will move to reconsider dismissal of charges versus Peter Lim and Kerwin Espinosa,” Roque said in his Twitter account.
Roque said Duterte was so pissed at the DOJ ruling that he threatened his college buddy, Justice Secretary Vit Aguirre, that he would replace Lim and Espinosa in jial if they would be acquitted. (Co is already serving a life sentence for drug trading).
