Delicadeza! Jose Calida clarifies position on VP recount threshold
Solicitor General Jose Calida is once again under fire for siding against popular opinion. The abogado recently clarified and explained his stance on the contested shading threshold implemented by the Commission on Elections.

In his latest statement, Calida noted that it is his duty to side in what he believes is in the best interest of the government. As the Solicitor General, he needs to look beyond the interest of his clients and push for a solution that will be favorable to the government.

Another reporter, Edu Punay, also gave context to the decision made by Calida recently. He used former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay’s refusal to represent the National Historical Commission in Torre de Manila case.
