Davao Judge Carlos Espero II: I respect the seniority rule in the Supreme Court
Davao Judge Carlos Espero II on Thursday said that he respect the “seniority rule” in the Supreme Court and would not apply for the chief justice post if given the opportunity.
“I respect the seniority rule at the Supreme Court. It should be always like that especially if the chief justice position is on the line,” Espero said during the Judicial and Bar Council’s public interview of nominees for a SC seat to be vacated by Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr.
If chosen as SC justice, Espero said: “I want to be the janitor of the Supreme Court. I want to focus on the administrative aspect of the Court. Nobody is monitoring if they are serving the Filipino,” he said.
