Clash of the geniuses: Hilbay, Locsin butt heads over Sereno
Former solicitor general Florin Hilbay called out Teddy Boy Locsin for “missing his point” about Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno’s impeachment case.
In a tweet, Hilbay questioned why only Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is the one being slapped with allegations that are deemed “impeachable”, when there’s another public official that should have been on her place, too.
Locsin then made a sarcastic reply: “You shoulda said that when Corona was being hung out to dry by Noynoy and his bought Congress and Senate. I did. I never stopped attacking the impeachment even after Corona was convicted by a bought Senate. Too late now to be heroes.”
Hilbay snapped and said he was amused at how Locsin “consistently” misses his point.
“1. Corona was removed by impeachment, not quo warranto. 2. If Congress wants to remove Sereno by impeachment, that’s its prerogative. 3. No one’s trying to be a hero. Just reading the Consti like sane citizens and students of law,” the former solgen replied to Locsin.
If you can remove an impeachable officer for lack of “integrity” for failure to file SALN a decade before, then you can remove another impeachable public officer for consistently undermining our victory in Phils v China for lack of “competence, integrity, probity, independence.” https://t.co/B83z6EUQpW
