Walang lusot! SC sacks Nueva Ecija stenographers for faking civil service exams
The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed 2 Nueva Ecija court stenographers over their spurious civil service eligibility, following an anonymous tip that they have not really taken their civil service examinations.
In a recent 6-page decision, the SC ruled Sto. Domingo Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch 31 stenographer I Evelyn Ragel and Guimba Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 31 stenographer III Emelyn Campos guilty of dishonesty.
The SC agreed with the findings of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) that the seat plan pictures showed other people took the examinations in 1997 and 1996 for Ragel and Campos.
“The differences are so apparent that even an ordinary person could easily discern it and conclude that these persons are different from one another,” read the decision.
“By their act of dishonesty, Evelyn Ragel and Emelyn Campos failed to meet the stringent standards set for a judicial employee. As such, they do not deserve to remain part of the judiciary and must be dismissed from office,” it added.
