Maling-mali: Gadon should prove his allegations not me – Sereno

Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno believes that the impeachment complaint against her has been flawed from the start because her accuser has been allowed to peddle his “lies” to the House of Representatives without giving sufficient evidence.

“I’m ready in any proceeding to prove my innocence. What is happening is wrong already because all the onus is being given to me. Ni isang impeachable offense,” said Sereno in an interview with ANC’s Karen Davila.

In his impeachment complaint against Sereno, Gadon accused the Chief Justice of committing high crimes, corruption and culpable violation of the Constitution, and betrayal of public trust.

Sereno asked.

Sereno said Gadon was grasping at straws for wanting to impeach her with practically no big issue or contrversy to pin down against her.

Sereno accused Gadon of perjury for claiming personal knowledge of his accusation when he has never been present in any of the court discussions and she has never met him in her life.
