Is that so? Law prof questions Alvarez’ stand on ICC
Arellano University School of Law professor Mars Arias found the apparent antagonism of House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez against the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a double standard: Bakit ang China pwede?
Alvarez recently said that Duterte critics welcoming the ICC action on the war on drugs “can go to hell” as the government will not allow the international body to “meddle in our domestic affairs.”
But Arias was not convinced. He found it problematic that ICC “can’t meddle with our sovereignty” but the People’s Republic of China can.
“Maybe there’sa new definition of sovereignty?” the abogado asked.
We’re dying to know, too!
ICC can’t meddle with our sovereignty but PRC 🇨🇳 can? What a load of 💩. Maybe there’sa new definition of sovereignty?@HecklerForever @inquirerdotnet @ABSCBNNews @rapplerdotcom @thecorpusjuris https://t.co/UClPul1YOJ
