DOJ mulls holding clarificatory hearing on Atio’s death
The Department of Justice (DoJ) may conduct a clarificatory hearing in the Horacio Castillo III hazing death case.
Assistant State Prosecutor Susan Villanueva, head of the panel of prosecutors handling the preliminary investigation of the case, revealed this during the last hearing at the DoJ.
“We might still hold a clarificatory hearing,” she said. The said hearing is tentatively set on November 28.
Basically, the purpose of a clarificatory hearing is to tie up a few loose ends or some “minor” issues that remained outstanding.
Also, Villanueva disclosed that the respondents led by UST Faculty of Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina will file their respective rejoinders this coming Thursday.
