Hanggang 2022 pa! Alvarez says Duterte has enough time to solve drugs, criminality

Despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s self-imposed deadlines, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said the President has until the end of his term to solve criminality and the drug problem in the country.
This statement came after Duterte asked for another year to finish his drug war.
“He has until 2022 to do it. Hindi lang basta… bigyan lang siya ng isang taon ba… hanggang 2022 naman yung kanyang termino hindi ba?” Alvarez said in an interview on CNN Philippines.
“Mabuti na iyan, nagbibigay siya ng deadline, hind ba? Nagbigay siya… kaysa naman wala talaga siyang ginagawa,” Alvarez said.
Duterte has ordered the Philippine National Police to once again lead the drug war after momentarily transferring it to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
On the campaign trail, Duterte promised to eradicate crime, corruption and illegal drugs within three to six months and vowed to quit and give the presidency to former Senator Bongbong Marcos if he failed.
After his self-imposed deadline lapsed, Duterte admitted that he miscalculated his deadline for the drug war.
